January 1, 2018 By Ellis Eugene Leave a Comment

There’s no doubt that zip lines are the closest most of us will ever get to flying. Moments like these are scary but incredibly fulfilling. There’s something about strapping yourself into a harness and zipping down at high speeds with a flimsy-looking line that will give you a tremendous adrenaline rush! If you want to experience this exhilirating experience, make sure you include these 7 great zip lines in your travel plans!

Zip Lines | Fly Fast, Fly High

1. Honduras Adrenaline

People say that living in the edge is the best way to live… well… we believe it to, and we do like no one #Rapel #Honduras #Adrenaline pic.twitter.com/XHiQGIDrU4

In Roatan, Honduras resides the monstrous Honduras Adrenaline. Their zip line is 1,400 feet long – enough to get the ol’ adrenaline pumping. You’ll get to see a great forest view from 75 feet up in the air and there are numerous paths to choose from. You could usually lose yourself for a couple of hours here.

2. Slot Zilla

When in Vegas, don’t forget to go by Slot Zilla. It’s not the fastest, longest, or tallest of zip lines, but it makes for a great experience. Choose from the two options: the lower-flying Zipline and the altophobia-inducing Zoomline. Make sure to bring your best friends along – up to four people can ride the Zoomline at a time. It’ll definitely make great selfies for you and your buds!

3. Flight of the Gibbon

Very few adventures in #Thailand rival the Flight of the Gibbon. This Popular outdoor thrill was inspiration behind entire zip-line craze. pic.twitter.com/tFTYYonDa0

There’s so much to see in Thailand and the Flight of the Gibbon is one of them. Based out of Mae Kampong, Thailand, Flight of the Gibbon is one of the first zip line parks in the world. Moreover, it is also Asia’s longest zip line, giving its riders and exhilarating 2,600 feet of zip line goodness. You can see the lush rainforests of Thailand with their 4-mile lines.

4. La Tyrolienne

Fancy a trek through the Alps? Deep in the Val Thorens ski resort is one of the world’s (literally) coolest zip lines. La Tyrolienne gives its riders an adrenaline-pumping 1 minute and 45 seconds. It is regarded as the tallest zip line in the world and is certainly not for the faint of heart.

5. Icy Strait ZipRider

Take the missus on a ride she’ll never forget with the Icy Strait ZipRider. Located in Hoonah, Alaska, the ZipRider is capable of taking two people on a zip line ride at once. Without a doubt,  it’s a perfect experience for couples. It’s not as intense as most of the entries on this list, but it’s really good fun!

6. Arenal Volcano Park

When in Costa Rica, it’s always a good idea to take a zip line on one of the world’s most active volcanoes. Live out your action star dreams with Arenal Volcano Park’s Sky Trek zip lines! Located 2,000 meters above sea level, Sky Trek lets you choose between two options: a higher or longer zip line. It has 7 lines currently running, so you can take your time during your 2-hour tour and try them all!

7. Zip 2000

South Africa is a place filled with wonders. It houses the Zip 2000, the current Guinness World Record holder of the fastest zip line in the world. It has an amazing 114 mph top speed, which will take you from end to end in one minute. Sure, it’s only a minute — but it’s at over a 100 miles per hour. It can support up to two people at a time, so make sure you bring your GoPro and record this unique experience!
