Meeting her needs may require a bit of work and some relationship advice. Even if we’ve been with someone for years, we still need some pointers on how to meet someone’s needs. But how exactly does a guy figure out what his wife needs? How do we make sure that we are completely capable of providing and sustaining them?
Relationship Advice | How to Be a Provider
1. Take Responsibility for Your Happiness
— Motivational Quotes (@911well) October 9, 2017
Here’s a piece of relationship advice you don’t get every day. Truth is, the first step to providing for her needs doesn’t have anything to do with her; it’s more of you taking responsibility for your own happiness. A wise man once said, “if you can’t love yourself, how are you going to love somebody else?”
However, true as it is that your partner can be a cause for your happiness, that’s just it – they’re a cause rather than the cause. Learn to be happy with yourself, and soon you’ll be seeing your partner in an entirely different light. Of course, this goes for your partner as well; you both need to be happy alone to be happy together.
2. Help Her Feel Good About Herself
— Daily Love Minder (@DailyLoveMinder) January 10, 2017
Maybe it comes with the territory, but people do appreciate their partners less and less every year they spend together. Chalk it up to contentment. Obviously, these things happen, and men often end up forgetting to tell their SOs how pretty they are or how much they appreciate their efforts. However, this is one thing you should never neglect.
Everyone – not just women – needs to feel good about themselves. Little things like compliments on her appearance, cooking up a romantic date every few weeks allows her to feel appreciated. And boy, does being appreciated go a very long way.
3. Always Be Faithful
Cheating is wrong, full stop. Cheating on someone is the ultimate sign of disrespect towards a person. It’s true that over time, your attraction to your partner will fade. However, that is indeed no excuse to go out and find someone else.
Relationships are commitments, and real men honor theirs. Besides, cheating will get you nowhere. Sure, you may think that it’s worth it for 20 minutes or so, but in the end, you’re still together with your SO. And when (yes, when) she finds out, you’re in deep doo-doo. Faithfulness is one of the keys to meeting her needs, so don’t lose it.
4. Let Her Know You Put Her First
Your SO should be at the top of your list of priorities. Women need a lot of things, but at the top of all those needs is the desire to feel valued. Therefore, you should let her know that she is at the top of your priority list.
Whenever she needs something from you, make time to give it to her on the day itself. Never deny her the help she’s looking for because that is a sure way to make her feel unwanted and unloved. If this seems a little bit too submissive, it’s not. It’s just you honoring your commitment to her. Put her on top, and you’ll be sure she’ll do the same for you!
5. Communicate with Her
Of all the relationship advice you might hear in your time, this is the most common. Communication is a basic need for you and her both. She needs to be understood — her insecurities, annoyances, and grievances. Here’s some good relationship advice: listening to her (and not just hearing her) is an excellent way to let her know you care. Providing this need is not only appreciated, it is required.
For a relationship to blossom, communication must be a huge priority for both parties. Letting her know you hear her needs while telling her about yours opens up avenues for compromise, ones that will only benefit your relationship.
6. Don’t Cave into Threats
Your relationship with your SO might come to a point wherein she is threatening to leave the relationship you both have been working on. Rather than consider this as a threat, treat it as a cry for help. In truth, some people use the threat of divorce as a way to get the other party to shut up. Therefore, it’s best to not cave into these threats.
Don’t be afraid to ask her what’s wrong, and what you can do to make it better. No one wants to be left behind, least of all by the one they love. Try and talk things out and listen, then change what needs to be replaced. Leaving the relationship should be the last resort, not the first choice.
7. Love, Love Away
Call me cheesy, but I certainly believe that love is the one need your SO constantly craves. A relationship is founded upon the love two people feel for each other. Meeting this need is easier said than done, though. It takes more than a daily “I love you” to show someone you love them.
Little acts such as a little note, making their lunch for them, taking them out, breakfast in bed, or just plain taking out the trash as she told you to can go a very long way. Love is simple and complicated at the same time. But these little acts add up and show your affection in ways no grand gesture can ever compare to.
