Summer is the best time to do all these since it’s basically guaranteed the weather will be on your side. Here’s a list of outdoor activities you can try. So start calling some friends and family and draw up an itinerary everybody will be glad to jump on!
7 Outdoor Activities for a Memorable Summer
1. Outdoor Ball Games
Feeling a bit out of shape? Maybe a game of basketball will help motivate you and get your body in gear. Even better, see if there are local leagues in your town. That makes it easy to set up a game, and makes participating fun and easy. It’s also a great way to get some exercise. Also, not only will it raise your competitive spirit, but you might make a new friend or two along the way.
If you love peace and quiet, fishing might a perfect outdoor activity for you. The solemnity of simply staring at nature’s beauty, plus the thrill of baiting fishes every now and then, is totally worth a shot. On top of that, fishing is one of the most popular father-and-child bonding activities you can find anywhere, so you may want to schedule this activity with your kid or your old man soon.
3. Mountain Climbing
You may not realize why many people enjoy this outdoor activity of exhausting yourself walking on rocky roads and climbing up to the top of the mountain just to get down again. But, give it a shot and you’ll find this activity rewarding if you want to strengthen your body, be one with nature, bond with friends, and see breathtaking views. You don’t have to climb up a sheer cliff face but, you can find some hiking trails and start there. Stepping outside your comfort zone is a great way to celebrate summer!
4. Giant Beer Pong
If the activities mentioned above are just too exhausting (or sober) for you, try some creative games that really don’t require too much stamina. Giant beer pong is perfect for a fun, social day especially if you’re looking for something to do with your friends. So, same rules as beer pong, you just have to replace the cups with trash bins and the ping pong ball with a volleyball. You can still play with beer (not from the trash can!), or think of other consequences for the losers to spice things up a little.
5. Dodge Ball – Water Balloon Edition
Beat the summer heat with a game of water balloon dodge ball! Kids love the process of filling up balloons, so that makes your life a lot easier! Plus, you can expect plenty of giggles once the game begins and they start getting hit. So, invite neighborhood kids to come over and make it a party the whole block can enjoy!
6. Recreate Your Pool Noodles
Did you think pool noodles are only for swimming? Think again. These materials are so versatile that even playing croquet is possible! Here are tips on how to build the rings and poles for your giant ring toss, and other games you can play using these flexible materials.
7. Outdoor Pictionary
After trying out these outdoor activities, some brain exercises could be a welcome addition. Plus, it is so easy to do. Just get a chalkboard on your garage and see how interactive this game is when done with family and friends.
