There’s no question that a long distance relationship is a challenge, but it can definitely be worth it, and the hardships you endured along the way can help you both grow. However, something worth asking is how different will things be if you are pursuing a foreigner?
How to Maintain a Long Distance Relationship
1. Listen to Your Heart
First interactions should be light and basic. Further, all romance should begin face-to-face. Everything else is just leading up to those meetings. In those first conversations, you’re simply looking for signs of attraction — and here’s a clue, laughter leads to love. It signifies that you see the world the same way. It bridges your spirits at a higher level. Further, it shows commonality in intellect.
So once you have found a woman that you have shared a spontaneous moment with, set dates with her to see if the sparks grow. Your only goal on these first encounters is to answer the question, “Would I like to spend another hour with this lady?”
2. Set Up Dates
Once you’ve enjoyed a moment of fun with a woman, suggest you get together again. If you both shared a moment just then, it should be an automatic agreement from her. The rest is logistics — time and place.
The purpose of these next dates is to see if the sparks grow into flames or not. If nature is moving you both forward, you’ll find a moment of magic will appear. They’ll be something inside you that wakes you up and says, “This is amazing!” That is when you need to confirm the mutual attraction.
3. Confirm the Attraction
At this point, you are starting to really feel the buzz of attraction. You may have been completely taken off guard with new feelings of amazement. It may be that you discover you both have way more in common than you could have possibly imagined.
It could also be that tender moment of sensitivity uniting your souls. You may even start to finish each other’s thoughts. Regardless of how the connection manifests, you know it’s there on your end.
How do you confirm if the feeling is mutual? First, you declare where you’re coming from – and make it brief, “When I met you I was ready and open to finding a serious relationship. You are the type of person I was hoping to meet, but I want to ask you: Are you enjoying the chemistry between us? Am I the type of man you would have hoped to meet?”
It’s important to ask this in the moment of peak connection and to ask with confidence. Don’t make it too serious. Instead, try to ask it in a calm way that is just curious to know. Then wait for the response – do not speak next. You’ve put it out there, so wait for her answer.
4. Start the “What if . . . ” Conversations
Once you get a positive response to your question, it’s time to start talking about what you’ve both imagined in a life with a future spouse. This type of dialog won’t work in your local dating scene. This is overseas dating. It’s important to find out if the lifestyle you have matches up with her dreams.
Talk about where you live and what there is to do there. Tell her about your career and what that looks like on a daily basis. Talk about what types of things she could do in your city. Help her see the vision of a future life with you that is compelling.
5. Pursue the Girl

The first desire in every woman’s heart is to be pursued. She wants to know that she is important enough to someone that they will stop their world to pursue her heart. She wants to know that there is a man who will be fascinated by her and want to get to know her – and to put effort into making her feel pursued.
The art of romance may have been lost in our generation, but it’s in your DNA. You know how to romance a woman. Women flourish with compliments, flowers, small gifts, and romantic or adventurous outings.
