A new football season is upon us and for die-hard fantasy football fans, choosing the star to spearhead your roster may prove to be a difficult choice. Lucky for you, below are the seven players deserving to be picked first in this list!
Fantasy Football 2017 | 7 Stars To Take In First Round
1. Le’Veon Bell, Pittsburgh Steelers
CBS and ESPN mock draft boards took Bell first and there’s no question as to why he’s considered the best running back in the NFL. He’s an amazing athlete. When he went down with a groin injury last season, the Steelers lost their chance to go all the way. Finishing first in terms of touches per contest should pave the way for him to record elite stats again.
2. Ezekiel Elliott, Dallas Cowboys
You probably have reservations about drafting Elliott since there’s an impending suspension for the star. This may cost him a game or two, but his upside is just too hard to ignore. He was touted as the best rookie in 2016 as he integrated to the Cowboys’ offensive line, smoothly resulting in very impressive stat-lines, including a #1 finish in rushing yards.
3. David Johnson, Arizona Cardinals

Johnson was the centerpiece of the Cardinal’s offense last season as he led all running backs in reception with 80. The team ranked 21st in running attempts in their previous campaign, running the football on almost 37 percent of their offensive snaps.
4. Odell Beckham, New York Giants
Beckham continued to be a hot commodity as he led the Giants with 169 targets. Moreover, he scored 42 percent of the team’s wideout touchdowns in all his years with the squad. There may be a slight decrease in his target totals thanks to the addition of Brandon Marshall and Sterling Shepard, but he should continue to provide productive numbers for your fantasy football team.
5. Julio Jones, Atlanta Falcons
Superstar receiver Jones’ overall targets were down from last season, but his numbers are expected to rise again thanks to new offensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian. Should he repeat his strong showing in the Rec Yards department again, that should be more than enough reason to take him as your first round pick.
6. Mike Evans, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Considered as the number one wideout last season, Evans is still poised to continue right where he left off despite the possibility of his target share decreasing due to DeSean Jackson and O.J. Howard now in the passing attack. You can expect another 1,000-yard season from this wide receiver.
7. Antonio Brown, Pittsburgh Steelers
Brown led his team in total targets last season with 154, and, in fact, that was his lowest total since 2014. Should he have a resurgence and continue to lead the league in total targets, like he has for the past three years, you should be the favorite to win this stat-line.
