With autumn upon us, it’s time to find someone to hibernate with for the cold months of the year. Now, instead of hanging out at the beach or meeting people in vacation houses, it’s time to get back to a little more structure and planning. Luckily, the fall gives us some special activities that aren’t available the rest of the year. If you are looking for some interesting fall date ideas, look no further!
Fall Date Ideas Perfect for a New Relationship
1. Go leaf peeping!
Yes that’s really a thing. This is the time of year when nature showcases her amazing colors as the leaves turn from green to all shades of red, yellow, gold and brown. Figure out when the leaves in your particular area are going to turn and just go out for a drive. If you get a nice day, you’ll see some of the most amazing colors. Pack a picnic and find a little place to enjoy yourself. If you have the ability to do this on horseback, so you can go into the forest itself, do it!
2. Play Dress-Up
Go to a costume store and spend the afternoon trying on costumes. With Halloween creeping up on us, get back in touch with your inner kid! Find a seasonal store that has all the fixings and just play around. Pick out costumes for each other to try on. Find the funniest props or the weirdest candy.
3. Channel Your Inner Chef
Cook dinner together with fall’s delicious bounty. When the seasons change, a whole host of fresh new ingredients become available. Go to your local farmers market or high quality grocery store and get some squash, apples & pears, sweet potatoes, brussel sprouts, and sunflower seeds. Head back home and whip up some awesome eats. Don’t forget to put on Vivaldi’s “Autumn” to get you in the mood.
4. Get Outside
Fall is harvest time and that makes it a great time to get back out into nature. A particular favorite around this time is apple picking. Grab a bushel with your baby and head out to your local orchard to get some amazingly fresh fruits. Then come home and bake a pie, make caramel apples, or just eat them sticky and fresh! Picking out pumpkins or going to a corn maze are also fun fall activities. Bonus if you can find a hay-wagon to hitch a ride on.
Go to a football game (or any sporting event) and do some good-old-fashioned tailgating! It’s one of America’s great autumn pastimes. Make some chili or other yummy comfort food, grab your favorite adult beverage, and head to the stadium. Do it alone or with others for a great weekend experience. Heck, you don’t even have to go into the game. Just pack a radio, kick back, and enjoy yourself and your time with your partner.
