The best Kickstarters are those that present a revolutionary idea addressing a common need. Conversely, they could be addressing a niche desire for many people, but with a product that transforms the idea into something great. Either way, human ingenuity shines through in these Kickstarter campaigns. Here are 7 of the best Kickstarters and the reasons why YOU should throw down some cash on them.
Best Kickstarters | Projects Worth Your Backing
1. Ticwatch S&E Smartwatch
Ticwatch S & E: A Truly Optimized Smartwatch https://t.co/WZPhRMWC6s
— elmuun (@elmuun) August 15, 2017
One of the best Kickstarters we’ve seen this year is the Ticwatch S&E Smartwatch. It is a uniquely designed smartwatch that runs on Android Wear, a truly versatile wearable OS. The Ticwatch comes in two variants. One is Excess, its “premium” variant. The other is Sport, an option for those who prefer to be on-the-go.
Of course, it’s not the look you’re after but the features. The Ticwatch ticks all the requirements: speech-to-text, instant Google Now access, third-party app support, and the like. What sets it apart are the hundreds of watch face options, allowing you a lot of customizability. All in all, it’s a pretty great smartwatch.
Funded: $2.7 million
2. Apricoat Adventure Jacket
If you’re the outdoorsy type, someone who needs a lot of pockets, or are just looking for a great jacket, this campaign is one of the best Kickstarters for you.
The Apricoat Adventure Jacket is possibly every guy’s dream apparel. Besides having thermal protection, it also has one of the best features dudes look for: pockets. This baby rocks 16 pockets — so many that you’d find it hard to fill all of those up. What’s more, it looks damn good.
Funded: $1.1 million
3. The Chameleon Pack
— Jason Millett (@Jdamillett63) August 12, 2017
Backpacks are essential pieces of equipment for people who are always on the move. This includes everyone from parents to hikers and campers, fishermen to students. If you fall into these categories (or anything in between), then The Chameleon Pack is the best Kickstarter for you!
The Chameleon Pack is one of the most uniquely-designed backpacks available today. It features a modular 32-liter pack, which can be split into two separate drawstring slings. Additionally, one of its best features is a built-in chair, which allows you to sit back and relax wherever you are.
4. Dreamcade Replay
First thing I’ve ever backed from kickstarter! I just backed Dreamcade Replay- One console to rule them all! https://t.co/M1M26RRzra

There’s something about retro games that brings out nostalgic emotions. This reaction is a far cry from what modern games offer. Games were truly much harder and infinitely more rewarding back in the day. These facts make the Dreamcade Replay one of the best Kickstarters available today.
The console features games from some of the greatest platforms ever. These include game systems such as the SNES, Sega Game Gear, Commodore, Apple Macintosh, among others. The Dreamcade Replay also works with many modern controllers, so there’s no need to fork out $50+ for a retro controller (unless you really want to.) Share the thrill of finishing Super Mario World with your kids and grandkids!
5. The Ultimate Belt by Kore
— Jordan West (@NAN0SPLICER) August 5, 2017
Tired of buying a new belt every time you lose (or gain) a few pounds? The Ultimate Belt by Kore is, luckily, one of the best Kickstarters that had you in mind. This surprisingly well-designed belt uses ratchets rather than notches, meaning you’ll never need to punch holes into your belts again.
Additionally, it gives you various options for buckles you can interchange depending on the occasion or your mood. The Ultimate Belt also boasts toughness and versatility. It is likely going to make its way into plus size men’s wardrobes everywhere. We’re more than happy to throw down some cash to back this Kickstarter campaign!
6. Lofree Poison Wireless Speakers
— BloomWatch (@BloomWatcher) August 2, 2017
Though there are a thousand and one options for a wireless speaker these days, the Lofree Poison Wireless Speakers could be one of the best Kickstarters this year because of one reason: it’s very sexy.
These speakers sport a great retro design that throws back to ’50s radio sets. Thankfully, they don’t sound like ’50s radio sets, so you’re sure this product is made for 2017 music quality. Despite its tiny size, the Lofree Poison will sound as loud as your Karman/Hadron speakers, thanks to its 20-watt blasters.
7. Bazooka Folding Bike
Folding bikes can either be a love it or hate it situation. Most bikes are too small to be comfortable for most riders, so wouldn’t it be great to have something like the Bazooka Folding Bike?
We consider this one of the best Kickstarters this year because of its cool features: mainly, being a full-sized bicycle with all the benefits of a folding bike. Additionally, while most foldable bikes run on greasy chains, the Bazooka Folding Bike manages to keep your hands clean with its cool Carbon Belt Drives. These things never rust, never need oil, and are lighter than chains. Oh, and yes, the bike is very lightweight.
Funded: $18,000 (almost there!)

Since its inception, Kickstarter has put out many great projects through the ingenuity of regular people with great ideas. No longer should people wait for a company to pick up an idea and price it way higher than it should be. However, bear in mind that Kickstarter is not an online marketplace, but rather a hub for you to commit to projects you believe in. No matter what you choose, make sure you believe in the product and support it!
