How to Have a Balanced Relationship with Your Loved One
1. Conversations are Two-way

Being a good conversationalist is not enough to sustain a relationship. You should also learn to become a great listener and give your partner the chance to chime in. What if you are complete opposites, where she’s shy and you’re loud? Even then, you can have great conversations and communication as long as you make it a point not to dominate the conversation entirely.
2. Be Supportive of Each Other’s Career

A career can affect a relationship in many ways, but it all boils down to how you manage the situation. Spending time together will be a bit of a challenge, especially if she is working a demanding job. Instead of complaining about it, make your partner feel comfortable every time you are together. Make her see you as her safe place.
Also, one-upmanship is another common issue. Here, one partner feels inferior when the other is achieving goals left and right. Think of it this way: your partner is excelling, because she aspires for a bright future with you in it! Instead of feeling intimidated, focus on your own goals and be the best in your field of work as well!
3. Make Big Decisions Together
Sure, it feels nice to take the lead but not everybody rolls that way. It is important to ask for your partner’s opinion every time you make big decisions in your relationship. This also applies to your finances. It is best to consult her before making a huge purchase. Although you may want something so badly, this may hinder your finances and may strain your joint budget.
4. Forgive and Accept Flaws
Nobody is perfect, and everyone is allowed to have their own flaws. In a relationship, letting things go should be practiced. As much as you love your partner’s strengths, learn to embrace her weaknesses as well. Be willing to forgive and do not let your ego get in the way.
5. Equally Distribute Tasks and Love
For couples who are planning on living together, have the initiative to do household chores. Don’t be shy about distributing tasks — you don’t want to be doing all the work and feel resentful, right? Same goes with showing affection, don’t hesitate to make the first move!

Learning to give and take is the key to a successful and balanced relationship. There is a reason why you are together, so don’t be the reason why things need to end. Being selfless will go a long way. Besides, your partner will be more than willing to reciprocate all your efforts and gestures! As they always say, it takes to tango!
