Our 2017 NFL season predictions are in! The NFL preseason start is inching closer, and we bet you just can’t wait! But before you hit your man caves to watch the game, have a look at some of the predictions for this year’s NFL season.
2017 NFL Season Predictions | Our Fearless Forecast
1. Marcus Mariota will be declared League MVP
The Tennessee Titans’ 23-year old quarterback has seen some action in the previous season. With Rishard Matthews and Kendall Wright as top receivers, Mariota was able to throw 3,426 yards and run for 349. Add Corey Davis to that team and Mariota will have the line up he needs to grab an MVP title and take his team to the playoffs.
2. The Seattle Seahawks won’t be winning a playoff game this season
Every time the Seahawks made the playoffs since 2012, they have always won a playoff game. This year, however, things might not be as good for them. While they are still bound to win the NFC West with ease, the rest of the NFC has vastly improved that they don’t pose much of a threat anymore.
3. Los Angeles Rams will go for 8-8
The improvements the team has made offseason is bound to pay off huge in this coming season. With their new head coach Sean McVay adding the energy his team needs, and Wade Phillips coaching the defense, the Rams are going to make some noise this year.
4. We will get to see the 8th 2000 rusher in NFL history
Not going to name any names, but if you look at the list there are possible Hall of Famers or those getting there who could possibly achieve this in the coming season. Many guesses this to be Ezekiel Elliot, and while that is quite likely, there are still others in the running for this milestone.
5. The Dallas Cowboys will reclaim the top seed in the NFC
Many are doubting this prediction because of the rumors that Elliot might receive a suspension and Tony Romo will be out of the field this season. But previous seasons have taught us the Cowboys are smart enough to make adjustments. While the odds seem to be against them, trust that they will line up a good defense to pull up the top spot again.
6. New England Patriots will miss the playoffs
Sure Tom Brady says he’s still having too much fun to quit football, but this year might be the season time takes a toll on him. Brady is likely to continue taking the hits he took in the Super Bowl as the regular season progresses and as they face the AFC West. This will cause them to miss the playoffs for the first time since 2008 because of Brady’s knee injury.
7. Jameis Winston will take the Buccaneers to the playoffs

Winston had a strong play in the last year, and many believe he will get even better in the coming season. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will also improve as a team this year due to their excellent draft. And while the Falcons remain the team to beat in the NFC South, the Buccaneers are still likely to get to the playoffs as a wild card team.
